Now that smaller, more power-efficient HD Radio chips are available, the ones found in HD Radio portables like the Insignia HD and Zune HD, iBiquity is telling wireless executives those chips will work in cellphones too.

iBiquity Digital displayed several new demos and products at the NAB Radio Show in Philadelphia. In addition to the new Zune HD and Insignia HD portables, iBiquity had several personal navigation demos showcasing HD Radio’s real-time traffic capabilities.
Real-time navigation devices using HD Radio technology deliver traffic and concierge services like gas station prices, movie listings, sports scores, stock quotes, school closings, and emergency alerts.
